After nearly a century of growth, The Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee (LHSAGM) looked westward towards an increasing Lutheran high school interest in the Lake Country area. In August 1999, Lake Country Lutheran High School opened with 5 students in ninth grade. On May 31, 2003, the first graduation class of eleven students celebrated the completion of LCL’s first four-year educational establishment.

With the growth of students, vigorous effort was made to expand through campus building and establishment. Road blocks in land purchasing kept students at Divine Redeemer in portable classrooms on the parking lot, then into rooms at the YMCA, until finally plans were approved to build on land at the intersection of Highways 16 and 83. They officially opened the doors to the beautiful existing building on February 14, 2009.

Since those humble beginnings, LCL has continued to rise above expectations, and will now serve over 300 students this year. The spiritual life at LCL has carried them throughout the journey, and the message of Christ continues to lead the school, staff, and students into the exciting future ahead.

Today, LCL is a proud part of the LHSAGM, where together with Milwaukee Lutheran High School (established in 1903) and Martin Luther High School (established in 1967), the three schools will serve over 1,500 students and their families this year, a remarkable growth of over 250 students from the previous year. All three schools have experienced significant growth in both enrollment and program opportunities in recent years, as increasing demand for the diverse communities and student opportunities they provide continues. LCL is committed to providing exceptional student experiences in our pillars of academics, athletics, the arts, and student life, all of which are founded on faith and rooted in the truths of the Bible. We promise to never apologize for the Truth upon which we stand, and will tenaciously strive to bring the life-changing name of Jesus Christ to as many students and families as possible in relevant & relational ways through the remarkable gift of Christian education.
