TUITION AID PROGRAM

Lake Country Lutheran uses TADS to assist with determining levels of tuition assistance for its families.

A completed TADS application should be submitted by April 18, 2019. A 2018 W2 and other tax forms will need to be submitted online to TADS to complete this application.

Tuition assistance can be applied for through TADS after April 18, 2019. However, the majority of tuition assistance money will be awarded to those families that meet the April 18 deadline.

Potential New Family? Please Take Note:

New families may desire to know a tuition based assistance amount early in the application process and prior to the completion of their 2018 taxes. Conditional tuition assistance awards can be granted as soon as possible to new students. This process should be initiated through contact with the admissions director.

A TADS tuition assistance application can be submitted with a 2017 tax return at any time.  2018 tax information will still need to be submitted to TADS by April 18, 2019 to verify that award amount. Lake Country Lutheran reserves the right to change the tuition assistance award due to significant change in the financial situation of the family from 2017 to 2018.

For further questions about the TADS application process or tuition assistance considerations, please contact the Director of Admissions, Carson Cantwell.

"LCL has developed me as a leader through character roles...at LCL, we’re taught that our character is so much more that what you say. It’s what you do, how you act, how you react to situations. Watching teachers do that makes me want to have them as a role model and imitate them, being loving and kind, giving and forgiving."

WISCONSIN TAX DEDUCTION

For the tax year 2017, the State of Wisconsin has legislation (Wis. Stat. § 71.05(6)(b)49), in which private school tuition payments paid on or after January 1, 2017 are eligible for an annual income tax deduction. Qualified taxpayers may potentially claim up to $4,000 for each dependent child in grades Kindergarten through 8th and up to $10,000 for each dependent child in grades 9th through 12th. Tuition claimed must be paid in the tax year in which it is being filed.

For more information on how to claim these expenses, visit the Wisconsin Department of Revenue form online: Schedule PS - Private School Tuition (see Form below). In preparing the form, taxpayers will need our FEIN which is 39-0889672, as well as the amount of tuition paid last year.

To obtain 2017 tuition payments, log into your TADS account and click the billing tab. Enter the tax filing year (2017) into “Household Paid Tuition Tax Report” and hit submit. TADS can be reached at 612-548-3320 and will address questions about accessing the report.
