College Planning  Junior Parents and Students are encouraged to attend the College Planning Presentation held during the spring semester at LCL. Topics covered during this meeting include the College Application Timeline, Standardized Testing, College Visits, College Discernment, Paying for College, and Financial Aid. The powerpoint presentation outlined at the meeting can be found here. Additionally, a quick reference guide to the College Application Timeline can be found by linking here. If you have any specific questions about the process, please contact Diane Jakubowski, School Counselor, in the School Counseling Office.
Spring Semester Junior Meetings  All juniors meet with Mrs. Jakubowski after they have registered and requested classes for their senior year. Topics of these meetings with students include planning for college/career, how to apply to college, and how to search for scholarship. Students will meet with Mrs. Jakubowski during the school day and are scheduled from February through April. Parents are welcome and encouraged to join these meetings if possible.
Standardized Testing  Juniors should begin preparation for taking the ACT and/or SAT tests during this school year. It is suggested that students take these tests two or three times before their senior year. Check the "ACT/SAT" link for more information. The PSAT is also offered in October of Junior year.
Check out the guidance home page for information on area college fairs so you can start looking!

Other things to consider
  1.  Consider taking more challenging courses if you are doing well
  2.  Continue involvement in activities (school and volunteer service) - consider leadership roles
  3.  Visit colleges - create a list of questions and plan a list of schools to visit

Class of '15, Ross

"My relationship with my teachers has been so special. Not only are they teaching math, social studies and sciences, they’re teaching you how to be a husband, wife, father. They’re setting the example, and they lead by example. What they say in their chapels and devotions before class, they live that outside of school."

"I teach music and art because I love hearing and seeing students' expressiveness coming out through their musical performances or artwork. It's just an awesome bonus that I'm able to do what I love to do and integrate my faith into this aspect of my life. Seeing the Holy Spirit working in and through faculty and students is amazing, and seeing the love of Christ shine when students sing is not really a job, but an awesome privilege!"
