PHYSICAL EDUCATION I (PE 100) 9 None 1 or 2
The emphasis in physical education on the freshman level is on the fundamentals of physcial education and fitness as learned through participation in various individual sports. Cooperation, team building, and trust are incorporated in a low initiatives unit. One semester is required and the other may be taken as an elective.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION II (PE 200) 10 PE 100 1 or 2
The emphasis on physical education on the sophomore level is on the continued development of individual skills and coordination. Fitness and exercise are expanded through participation in team sports and other individual activities. One semester is required and the other may be taken as an elective.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION III & IV (PE 300) 11,12 PE 200 1 or 2
Classes at the junior-senior level shifts emphasis to activities of an individual or dual nature. Many lifetime sports, including fitness classes, are offered along with a variety of team sports. A student selects those activities of greatest interest and benefit. One semester is required each year, and the other semester may be taken as an elective each year.
HEALTH (PE 400) 9,10,11,12 NONE/REQUIRED 1
Health class is designed to help students understand how to be a spiritually fulfilled healthy human being. They will also discuss ways to maintain that healthy lifestyle throughout their lives. Four areas will be emphasized in each chapter: physical, social, emotional, and spiritual health. The students will discuss issues they are facing in their teen years and how to make decisions regarding those issues in a God-pleasing manner.
