Have you ever wished that you could draw well? In this course, you will discover abilities you never thought you had in a non-threatening environment that helps you develop art skills starting at your own level. You will have opportunities to explore units covering art history, dynamic use of color, shading, and perspective, and will learn new techniques in painting, sculpture, and ceramics. DRAWING AND PAINTING (AR 200) 10,11,12 AR 100 1
Take skills from Introduction to Art to a higher level. Sample drawing experiences include developing the skill of detailing, using pastel and charcoal, and learning to individually express your ideas. Painting opportunities include colorful work with acrylics, learning to master specific watercolor techniques, and using abstract expression. (Materials fee: $25)
ADVANCED DRAWING AND PAINTING (AR 300) 10,11,12 AR 200 1
An individualized course to allow students to further refine and develop their drawing and/or painting skills. Emphasis will be placed upon creative and original work based upon research and understanding of prominent artists and artistic movements. (Materials fee: $25)
THREE-DIMENSIONAL ART (AR 400) 11,12 AR 200 1
This course introduces students to the 3-D design and building techniques of various art materials with an emphasis on individual student creativity and ability. Students may be working with clay, wood, metal, plaster and other materials as they discover their God-given abilities. (Materials fee: $25)
